Frequently asked questions
Good to know
Which exam can I prepare for?
The courses follow the inburgering exam and the staatsexamen NT2, programma I and II. You practise the same skills as on the exam: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Taalingo is a learning platform and is not part of DUO or the IND.
I hardly speak any Dutch yet. Can I still start?
Yes. The A0 course, Dutch for beginners, starts from zero. You begin with single words and short sentences, with audio so you hear how they sound.
Why is there no English translation in the lessons?
That is a deliberate choice. You learn faster when you stay in Dutch. If you really get stuck, tap a word and you see what it means right away.
How much time does it take per day?
That is up to you. A full lesson usually takes twenty to thirty minutes. Short on time? Just do the daily micro-exercise.
Can I learn on my phone too?
Yes. You can use Taalingo in your browser and in the app. Your progress carries over, wherever you pick it up again.
